BMI & Healthy Weight Calculator
Enter your height and weight to see your BMI and your healthy weight range. We use the South Asian cut-offs, which are more accurate for Pakistani and Indian women.
Why South Asian BMI cut-offs?
South Asian bodies tend to store more fat around the tummy at a lower weight, which raises the risk of insulin resistance, diabetes and PCOS earlier. That is why the WHO recommends lower cut-offs for Asian populations:
- Below 18.5: underweight
- 18.5 to 22.9: healthy
- 23 to 24.9: overweight
- 25 or above: obese
BMI does not measure muscle or where fat sits. A waist measurement above 80 cm (31.5 inches) for women is another sign of higher hormonal and metabolic risk.
